Calm isnt my Default
But Balance Is Possible
If you’ve met me or worked with me, you might notice one thing right away: I’m a high-energy, Type A kind of person. Calmness, deep relaxation, and mindfulness are not traits that come naturally to me. And that’s perfectly okay.
My High Energy Is a Strength
I actually love my high energy — it means I have a zest for life, I’m always up for trying new things, and I’m definitely the one you want at your party! This energy fuels my passion for helping others and keeps me motivated in my work as a solution-focused hypnotherapist.
A Story About Two Personalities
When I worked as a support worker while training, I’d rush into work full of energy—but sometimes a bit frantic and scattered. My colleague used to laugh because the night before, she’d listen to my own deep relaxation recordings. Then, the next day, there I was, like two completely different personalities — rushing around but still somehow balanced and centered.
Why Calmness Doesn’t Come Naturally — And What Helps
The truth is, calmness isn’t something I’m naturally gifted with. If I don’t keep myself in check with daily rituals like reading, journaling, stretching, and walking, things can easily start to spiral out of control.
But here’s the good news: these are just positive habits that add up over time, little by little. When you start to feel the benefits, you naturally become motivated to keep going and build on them.
If you’re thinking about adding positive habits to your life, my best advice is to take it one at a time.

Calmness Is About Progress, Not Perfection
What I’ve learned is this: Calmness doesn’t mean changing who you are — it’s about finding practical ways to stay regulated and connected to yourself, no matter your natural energy levels.
By weaving mindfulness and relaxation into my day-to-day life, I’ve learned to harness my energy instead of feeling overwhelmed by it. It’s not about being calm all the time; it’s about knowing when and how to reset, recharge, and show up fully for myself and those I support.
If you’re naturally energetic or find calmness challenging, you’re not alone. You don’t have to become someone else — you just need the right tools and a little confidence to use them. That’s what solution-focused hypnotherapy offers: practical, tailored strategies that fit your unique way of being.
