“Had a great deep relaxation session with Jemma yesterday. Just what I needed after a stressful return to my teaching job. Really set me up for the week. Thanks Jemma” Oonagh
Nowadays we all lead very busy lives, it can be difficult to take time out and switch off. You might feel like you have no time left for yourself as you juggle your day but as the famous Zen monk saying goes;
“You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day. Unless you’re too busy, then you should sit for an hour.”
One hour a day is quite a lot but simply put, when we are rushing from one task to another we are usually in our fight-flight mindset. However by taking some time to relax, even just 10mins, at the start of the day, we set ourselves up in our rational mindset and are more able for the day ahead.
Many people neglect taking time for deep relaxation, it can seem indulgent, but engaging in deep relaxation has many therapeutic and restorative benefits and is a must to recharge your batteries and keep your mental state in a good place. Self-care is never selfish.
