What is Hypnotherapy?
Therapeutic hypnotherapy combines Psychotherapy and Hypnosis to promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, and foster a positive mindset. It focuses on future solutions rather than dwelling on past challenges.
Hypnosis involves a state of focused attention and deep relaxation, making your mind more receptive to helpful suggestions. Contrary to myths, you remain fully in control throughout the process. It’s comparable to everyday experiences like “highway hypnosis,” where you feel deeply absorbed yet aware.
By combining psychotherapy and hypnosis, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy offers a powerful way to overcome challenges and work toward a brighter future. What to Expect
In the initial consultation, we’ll discuss your goals, how hypnotherapy can help, and the number of sessions you may need. I’ll also explain how the brain works, why certain issues arise, and how we can overcome them.
Subsequent sessions focus on building solutions and imagining your preferred future. In a deeply relaxed state, hypnosis reinforces positive changes, consolidating what we’ve discussed.
Sessions are available online or in person at Sinéad Lynn Massage Therapy, Bangor.
When Hypnotherapy May Not Be Suitable
Hypnotherapy may not be appropriate for certain conditions like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or epilepsy. However, if these conditions are well-managed with medication and proper supervision, hypnotherapy can help manage stress. Consult your GP if you’re unsure.
